In this article you can find a recap of the 2nd of March AMA with our CEO, Claudio Parrinello.

March 2 AMA Claudio Parrinello - PlanetWatch

Main announcements

🟢 Miami trip

The trip to Miami was very fruitful. Claudio engaged in talks with potential investors, local government officials, and even representatives of an African government. All in all, a lot of doors are opening for PlanetWatch. We will keep you posted on any relevant updates but, bear in mind, patience is key.

🔵 Emirex listing

PLANETS are now listed on Emirex and you can trade them against USDT as well as ETH. Even though Emirex is not a very large exchange, it gives us strong exposure to the Middle East region, which is great for PlanetWatch’s global reach goals.

🟢 Type 4 licenses update

We are trying to address all outstanding issues in the best possible way.
For those who have a Type 4 device bought before the Type 4 licenses sales got temporarily suspended on January 27thbut no license, on March 14th, we will disclose a step-by-step procedure in order to obtain a Type 4 license.
Once this is sorted out, we will look into the broader Type 4 context with a view to reopen general license sales when appropriate.

🔵 Staking on Algostake

Thanks to a partnership with Algostake, we are launching two staking programs:

– Liquidity provider rewards
This program enables you to earn extra PLANETS through supplying liquidity to the PLANETS/Algo pool on Tinyman. How to proceed:
1. Add liquidity to the PLANETS/Algo pool on Tinyman
2. You will receive PLANETS-Algo LP tokens in your wallet
3. Stake LP tokens on Algostake and receive extra PLANETS as rewards
We decided to move forward with such a program as a way of thanking and encouraging some PlanetWatchers who are rendering a service to the community. By adding liquidity to the PLANETS/Algo pool, they are making it easier to acquire PLANETS, especially for those who do not have access to the centralised exchanges where we are listed at the moment (i.e. New York state residents).

– Stake for the Planet
This program will go live later this month. By staking PLANETS tokens you will earn a special type of reward which will enable you to add trees to the PlanetWatch’s forest. More details soon.

🟢 Recycle bin topping from data sales

As mentioned in the White Paper, whenever we sell data services, this triggers some PLANETS flows based on the following rules:
40% of the revenue will be added to the relevant recycle bin, depending on the type of sensors generating the data sold;
40% of the revenue will go to the owners of the sensors generating the data sold;
20% of the revenue will go to PlanetWatch.
Data sales are not yet substantial. However, there are already some data sales related to indoor projects. After reviewing the 2021 company accounts, we checked that data sales generated in the past from Type 3 devices allow us to add 57,000 PLANETS to the Type 3 recycle bin
Admittedly, amounts are quite small for the time being, but we believe this is an important milestone to show that we are executing our strategy according to our business model and to what is stated in the White Paper. There will soon be a blockchain transaction adding 57,000 PLANETS into the Type 3 recycle bin. In the future, the PlanetWatch Explorer will display the amount of PLANETS added from data sales to each recycle bin.

🔵 Account merging rules

In the past, we have mentioned that we would stop merging accounts and now the time has come. Effective March 4th, 6pm CET, if you buy licenses using more than one account we will no longer merge the accounts and your purchase will be refunded.
Until March 14th, we will only handle merge account requests related to license purchases dating prior to March 4th.
This is a necessary step to enforce mandatory KYC, as the KYC verification has to be completed using one single email address: one person, one account.

Q&A with Claudio

Will the new Type 2 sensor measure temperature and humidity? Do you plan to have PlanetWatch approved-sensors which measure wind speed/direction or air pressure?
We will disclose more details on the new Type 2 sensor as we get closer to the launch. Nevertheless, we can confirm it will be an innovative air quality monitoring sensor which measures PM2.5, temperature and humidity.

Why won’t the batch info keep being updated every two weeks?
Hardware availability is limited worldwide, which makes for a long waiting list. However, on one hand we are working very hard to secure additional sensor stock for upcoming batches, and on the other hand, we will soon improve the way the batch info is displayed to provide details on your actual position in the waiting list.

When can we expect purchase emails for the next batch?
Purchase emails for Type 1 and Type 3 sensors belonging to the Q1 2022 batch will be sent out by the end of the month.

Have you noticed an impact on air quality data since the war in Ukraine started?
Our sensor network does not have enough density yet on those locations to detect such variations.
On a side note, we at PlanetWatch want to express our sincere sympathy and solidarity to the people of Ukraine at this very difficult time. War is never the answer.

Friendly reminder
These days, PlanetWatch is getting fairly well-known and there are some ill-intentioned people trying to take advantage of that by pretending to be us. We have seen fake websites, fake support groups, fake Twitter and Facebook accounts, among others.
Please be careful with your PLANETS. Do not trust any rumours you hear on the Internet and do not buy into scams.
Stick to our official channels (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram) – that is where you will find all official announcements. In case of doubt, ask our mods for guidance on the official Telegram or Discord groups.

Keep watching our Planet and get ready to help us make it greener by staking your PLANETS! 🌍
