Following the launch of the API in July, the technical team has been working on adding new features to facilitate and bring more value to PlanetWatch’s clients and partners that want to tackle air pollution through precise air quality data.
We are happy to introduce you to the Breaking Changes and new features that were just released with version 0.2, which are divided into three primary services: Contact Management; Organization Management; Air Quality.
The API URL has changed from dataapi.planetwatch.io to api.planetwatch.io.
Access the new documentation page here.
The new release has also affected the following endpoints:
The response format did not change from v0.1.
ApiKey authentication management: users can now delete or generate an API key authorization, facilitating access to the API.
Organizations listing: users can now list organizations to which they were invited.
Clients can now list all the users within their organization that have access to the API.
Area data: Users can now query air quality data using a geographical area in GeoJSON format, i.e., they have the ability to draw a polygon in a map, copy the coordinates (on the right side of the image below), paste them into the API, and get access to all the air quality data within the selected area.
Available area listing within an Organization – Users can now get the list of available areas where data are available for them
Available sensors: Organizations can now get the list of devices available to them.
Available pixels listing – Organizations can now get the list of available pixels.
Release 0.3 will deliver improvements on georeferenced data retrieval and new functionalities for aggregated air quality indicators, such as the air quality comfort index, that will foster knowledge among users regarding the air quality data they are collecting.
