Developer token check for Resilience Plan – a step-by-step guide

This article was updated on July 6, 2022, with new information about the developer token checks process.

Dear PlanetWatchers, we are working towards the end of the Element Community Resilience Plan. The final step is to help some remaining members of our community claim their PLANETS and PW:Credit tokens (used to buy vouchers).

The developer token page is only visible if your email address was approved. This process applies to the approved users who either:

  • Failed to onboard the Element and opened a ticket before the deadline
  • Opened a ticket for the Type 4 license approval before the deadline

Taking into account the fact that Element’s manufacturer banned all PlanetWatch IPs, we are unable to perform the checks needed to verify your sensor(s) once you provide us with your developer token(s). Therefore, we decided to approve the Element sensors from ALL PlanetWatchers in one of the situations listed above and who received an email from us on July 4th informing their request had been accepted.

This being said, if that is your case, sign in to your Explorer account, check the MyDeviceApproval section and skip to step number 3 on this guide to learn how to claim your benefits from the Element Community Resilience Plan.

Please note that you have until July 31st, 2022, at 23:59 CET, to do so.

Before entering the guide, please ensure your device has been connected in the last 24 hours. Otherwise, you will not be able to verify it.

1. Retrieve developer token

Before going into the Explorer section of PlanetWatch’s website, retrieve your sensors’ developer token found on this page.

You can also use the Awair Home App (Google Play Store, AppStore). If that is the case, please follow the instructions to retrieve your sensors’ developer token (make sure you are logged in):

  • Select a sensor
  • Tap on “Awair+”
  • Tap on “Awair APIs (Beta)”
  • Tap on “Cloud API”
  • Tap on “Get API Token”
  • Copy the token

2. Approve your sensors

After copying the developer token, go to PlanetWatch’s Explorer. If you are not registered, please sign up by clicking on the “Sign up” option (found in the top right corner of the page) – make sure you use the same email address where you got our communication regarding the developer token checks.

Click in “Menu” (found in the top left corner) and search for the “MyDeviceApproval” section (found below “Buy Licenses”). Click it.

The developer token page will appear.

Paste your developer token into the text box, read the terms and conditions, and check the box to accept them.

Important notes:

  • You can re-do the previous steps if a device was not approved.
  • In case your device was not approved during your first try, please make sure it was connected and sent streams in the last 24 hours. If your device keeps on not getting approved, please wait 24 hours and try again – this could be a server overload issue from the device manufacturer’s side.

3. Claim your PLANETS and CREDITS

One requirement to receive the 5.4 PLANETS and the PW:Credit tokens is to have a verified KYC account – if you have not purchased a license and can not see the “MyVerification” option in the menu (where you are able to do the basic KYC procedure), it will only appear after you have one sensor approved through the developer token tool. If your verification failed, please read this.

After doing the previous step correctly, you should now be able to claim PLANETS and CREDIT tokens to use on the Voucher Marketplace (also found in PlanetWatch’s Marketplace).

These options can be found at the bottom of the page.

When one of the two buttons is clicked for the first time, you will be prompted to choose a wallet where one month’s worth of PLANETS (5.4 PLANETS/day) and the PW:Credits will be sent.

By clicking on the “Claim Planet” button, the following pop-up page will appear.

By accepting the terms and conditions, you will get one month’s worth of PLANETS (5.4 PLANETS/day) on October 17, 2022.

By clicking on “Claim Credit”, a similar process will occur. However, in this case, the PW:Credits will be sent immediately to your wallet and you can use them on the Voucher Marketplace (learn more here).

Once you have claimed the PLANETS and PW:Credit tokens, the buttons will turn gray, as shown in the screenshot below.

If something went wrong along the process, please ensure you have followed the guide step-by-step. If you are still not able to get your device approved, open a ticket.
